We embrace the carry-on only fashion challenge by providing versatile, multiway clothing options.
However, when carrying on your luggage, there's another consideration to be aware of; the 1L Liquid Limit.
In Canada/US, you are allowed to bring 1L size clear bag of liquids onto the plane, and each container must be 3.4oz or less.
Yeesh.
Like having to decide how many pairs of shoes wasn't tough enough?
I use my 1L limit primarily for cosmetics/toiletries/herbal medicines (though I must mention that I have seen people bring on bags full of mini vodka bottles before which I'm not sure is legit, but a creative use of the 1L limit)
{You'll be amazed at how much stuff I fit!}
The Clear Bag
It's a cute, durable, zippable Clinique bag that I got with a GWP (gift with purchase). Way better than the ziplocs you get at the airport.
Cosmetics/Toiletries
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Facewash (Scrub + Facewash in one)
Eye makeup remover
Eye drops
Origins SPF 30 Moisturizer
Hand Sanitizer from Bath & Body Works
Colgate Total Toothpaste
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee (good for lips too!)
Philosophy Loveswept Perfume
La Coupe Volumizing Hair Spray
Cargo HD Concealer
Juice Beauty CC Cream
H20 Plus Toner / Refreshing Mist
Living Proof Styling Gel
Josie Maran Argan Oil
Moroccan Oil
Biosilk Finishing Oil (can you tell I have frizzy hair!)
Small packet of Tide washing detergent
Fresh Lotus Youth Cream (*dream*)
No More Frizz Shampoo + Conditioner
Biotherm Clay Mask
Herbal Remedies
Organic Oil of Oregano
Now, there are a few things I could've left out. Generally, I trade face wipes for makeup remover/face wash (because it doesn't count towards your limit) BUT I don't find them as effective. The (3) Hair treatments are a bit of overkill but I'm traveling a lot to NYC this time of year and it is HUMID. Shampoo + Conditioner are small but most hotels have them.
Literally anywhere.
Hair salons often have freebies at the desk. I take extras from hotels I stay at if they're really good. Sephora is an EXCELLENT place to get minis either using your beauty points, or at checkout. Gift with purchase sets will give you good value and allow you to try new products, as well give you extra minis you can pack. Shoppers Drug Mart has a decent travel section, as does Walmart. I even sometimes rip mini samples out of magazines. How now.
You can also buy containers and downsize your large products into them if you don't travel that often.
I have a storehouse in my second bathroom (not a la hoarders, don't worry ... but close) of miniature travel items. It seriously saves so much time at the airport going carry-on only. I don't know why you wouldn't!
Wishing you wonderful travels!
