A classic high-rise legging, but better made. They’re crafted with our luxuriously soft, eco-friendly 4-way stretch fabric that’s dyed and milled locally. The Effortless Legging (previously The Fair Legging) features a wide comfortable waistband for a seamless silhouette and a minimalist design. You’ll want to wear these on the daily.

Ethically-Made Clothing

Encircled clothing is locally-made within 60km of our studio in Toronto, Canada at garment factories we vet for standards against our Ethical Code of Conduct checklist.

Local production in Canada means fair wages, safe working conditions, regulated time off, provincially funded health care and the right to unionize. Workers are protected by the Province of Ontario Employee Standards Act. We visit factories regularly, often weekly if not more frequenlty.

We prioritize working with local production on every component from labels, to zippers, to fabric due to the higher quality and standard of life offered to those who make the products locally in Canada.

Environmentally-Conscious

Low impact dyes that are free of harmful chemicals, and tested to be safe for your skin and safe for the workers harvesting, knitting and dying the fabric.

A large portion of our fabric (approx. 50%) is knit and dyed locally in Ontario, reducing our carbon footprint significantly.

Every fabric contains naturally-derived fibres that meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability. Read more on the Fabric below for each style.

Where noted, our fabrics are certified yarns, which means that they're sustainably-sourced in a way that honours the planet in the process.

Great every day black leggings

These are soft and comfortable. Trust the size recommendations! I have order 3 different pants in 3 different sizes (S, M and L as per the recommendations) and all were correct for the different styles.

I like the material. They don't slide down like others. The higher waistband is nice. Be nice if they could come in a little shorter inseam for shorter people.

Excellent Leggings!

I was a bit startled to have to buy an XXL because I’ve consistently worn an XL (sigh) for a few years now, but after reading the reviews and looking at the size chart, I decided to size up, and I’m glad I did. They fit well on my hips, bottom and legs. The band isn’t too tight, nor does it roll down as some others have reviewed (although I have a smaller waist to hip ratio). The fabric is fairly heavy and doesn’t show all the lumps and bumps that I have been blessed with after three kids! I decided not to take a star off because I think it is due to my curvy body, but the bottom of the pants are quite loose around my ankles. Overall, though, I’d definitely buy another pair; maybe I’ll get the blue ones next. I’d love to see them made in dark gray. 🙂

The Effortless Legging fits true to size. We recommend staying with your usual size. The Effortless Legging fits high-rise, with a fitted silhouette that sits above your natural waist. Inseam is 29.5”.

Adecia, shown in the product photos, is 5’9” and size 4-6 and wearing a size S. Jessie, shown in the product photos, is 5’8” and wearing a size XS.

Fabric & Care

Fabric

Our legging fabric is a blend of Rayon from Bamboo | Lycra knit and dyed in Toronto, Canada.

Luxuriously soft, eco-friendly Rayon from Bamboo is made from Bamboo fibre grown without pesticides and fertilizers. Bamboo crops naturally replenish themselves and produce a fabric that is breathable, silky and soft. Dyes are hypo-allergenic and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified to be free of harmful chemicals. This luxurious fabric is comfortable and easy to wear.

Care

Machine wash on gentle cycle, cold water. Hang to dry or lay flat. A light iron can be used but keep on low and use a towel in between the fabric and iron to avoid singeing the fibres. Do not put it in the dryer. Do not dry clean.
