The Dressy Tunic is made from a luxe, sustainable TENCEL™ Lyocell and Organic Cotton French Terry fabric that drapes beautifully. Featuring a long length relaxed fit, an elegant v-neckline back with pleating, high-low hem and side slits, this is a wardrobe staple you’ll be reaching for on repeat.

Ethically-Made Clothing

Encircled clothing is locally-made within 60km of our studio in Toronto, Canada at garment factories we vet for standards against our Ethical Code of Conduct checklist.

Local production in Canada means fair wages, safe working conditions, regulated time off, provincially funded health care and the right to unionize. Workers are protected by the Province of Ontario Employee Standards Act. We visit factories regularly, often weekly if not more frequenlty.

We prioritize working with local production on every component from labels, to zippers, to fabric due to the higher quality and standard of life offered to those who make the products locally in Canada.

Environmentally-Conscious

Low impact dyes that are free of harmful chemicals, and tested to be safe for your skin and safe for the workers harvesting, knitting and dying the fabric.

A large portion of our fabric (approx. 50%) is knit and dyed locally in Ontario, reducing our carbon footprint significantly.

Every fabric contains naturally-derived fibres that meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability. Read more on the Fabric below for each style.

Where noted, our fabrics are certified yarns, which means that they're sustainably-sourced in a way that honours the planet in the process.

Comfortable and versatile

The plum colour is rich and beautiful. The detail at the back is really pretty, but does feel a little bit bulky, though it lays nicely if you make sure it's neatly folded before putting it on.

Perfect!

I bought this for my mom as a gift and she loves it! She has worn it both ways and actually prefers the pleated side to the front. It covers the bum on both sides. The material is the usual encircled weight and softness, and the colour is as vibrant as appears online. She hasn't washed it yet but she's very happy so far! She's usually a medium in tops and took her usual size here. A large would likely have fit well too, she's about 5"5 and a size 8-10.

You NEED this!

This is my second tunic - it’s just that great! It is body-skimming while remaining flattering, long enough to cover all the bits you don’t want to show, soft and as comfortable as a sweatshirt, and the colours are saturated and beautiful. Indeed it looks great in the casual role with rolled, faded jeans but it dresses up with leggings and a heel. I’m a fan and really feel this is a very worthwhile investment. It also washes great and holds its shape. I did note what others had about the facing not being tacked down, but once it’s on, I haven’t had any problem with it moving or showing. I highly recommend!

Comfy and classy tunic

I really love this tunic and can’t wait to wear it once the summer heat waves pass. I’ve already got at least a half dozen outfit ideas I can’t wait to wear. I also love the look with bike shorts —good for a summer evening. It’s cozy like a sweatshirt but is so easy to dress up! I love the deep berry colour.

This tunic is very flattering, and I love the v-shaped back neckline. Only one quibble. I wonder if the neck facing could be a bit wider.

FIT ADVICE

The Dressy Tunic features a flattering relaxed fit with dropped shoulders for movement. We recommend staying with your usual size. If you’re in between sizes, we recommend ordering the size that aligns your bust measurement.

Tunic Length: The Dressy Tunic has a high-low hem, hitting at the high hip in the front and low hip in the back. From shoulder to hem, the front length is approximately 25" - 27 3/4" depending on size. From shoulder to hem, the length of the back is approximately 27" - 29 3/4" depending on size.

Model's Measurements

Chin, shown in White, Fuchsia Pink, and Dark Heathered Grey is 5'9", Bust 39", Waist 33", Hips 43", and wearing size XL.
Shannon, shown in Deep Berry and Sapphire Blue, is 5'7" Bust 34", Waist 24"Hips 34", and wearing a size XS.

Soft, luxurious French Terry made from an eco-friendly blend of Tencel™ Lyocell and organic cotton. Tencel™ Lyocell is made from wood pulp in a closed-loop process, meaning no water, harmful chemicals or bi-products were released back into the environment. Combined with organic cotton, this lightweight and cozy French Terry fabric is as dreamy to wear as it is sustainable. Dyes are hypo-allergenic and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified to be free of harmful chemicals.

Care

Machine wash or hand wash, cold. No bleach. Lay flat to dry. Iron on low inside out. Do not dry clean.
