Ethically-Made Clothing

Encircled clothing is locally-made within 60km of our studio in Toronto, Canada at garment factories we vet for standards against our Ethical Code of Conduct checklist.

Local production in Canada means fair wages, safe working conditions, regulated time off, provincially funded health care and the right to unionize. Workers are protected by the Province of Ontario Employee Standards Act. We visit factories regularly, often weekly if not more frequenlty.

We prioritize working with local production on every component from labels, to zippers, to fabric due to the higher quality and standard of life offered to those who make the products locally in Canada.

Environmentally-Conscious

Low impact dyes that are free of harmful chemicals, and tested to be safe for your skin and safe for the workers harvesting, knitting and dying the fabric.

A large portion of our fabric (approx. 50%) is knit and dyed locally in Ontario, reducing our carbon footprint significantly.

Every fabric contains naturally-derived fibres that meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability. Read more on the Fabric below for each style.

Where noted, our fabrics are certified yarns, which means that they're sustainably-sourced in a way that honours the planet in the process.

Love this Comfy Dress Shirt

I love this shirt! The fabric is so soft and very comfortable to wear. I love how it drapes - very flattering design AND it covers my bum when I wear it with leggings! I will definitely be ordering more clothes from Encircled!

Soft, Comfy, Flattering!

Love this everyday piece, and how flexible it is in my wardrobe! The fabric is lightweight enough to drape beautifully, yet structured enough that it doesn’t look shapeless or too casual. The sizing is generous but far from sloppy, and as with all Encircled pieces I find it knows which curves to accentuate and which to lightly skim over… Wrinkles almost shake right out, making it terrific for travel. This is my second of these tops and it joins my growing Encircled collection (12 various pieces!)

Great design and lovely fabric.

The size suggested to me is actually to big. Unfortunately I ad already washed the top and could not exchange it.
I wish it came in 2 lengths. A shorter version would be better for some outfits.

Fabulous Wear Everywhere Shirt!

I am so pleased with this shirt! It has such a flattering cut to it - looks beautiful and is easy to dress up or down. Fits well per sizing chart - if you're in between sizes, maybe try the lower size (with the Evolve Top (which I also totally love!), sizing down is a good idea, but this one fits truer to size chart, in my opinion). Also SUPER comfortable fabric, as with all Encircled products. This has quickly become a go-to in my wardrobe. I purchased the heather grey one. Would love to see a beige option - would snap that up too!

FIT ADVICE

The Comfy Dress Shirt is fitted across the shoulders with a loose, drapey fit over the body and through the sleeves. Hits at low hip. We suggest you order true to your normal size.

Shirt Length: The length of the front of the shirt is 16.75"-18.875" depending on size. The length of the back of the shirt is 27"-29.5" depending on size.

V-neck Depth: Ranges from 10.75-11.375” depending on size.

This blend is a more structured version of the soft modal fabric we’re known for, making it ideal for business casual wear.

Modal is a naturally derived, plant-based fabric cultivated from beech-tree pulp which is sustainably sourced in Austria, and neighbouring countries. Modal is made through an environmentally-conscious process where 95% of water and materials used to make the fabric are recycled. The fabric is also OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified which means it is free of harmful chemicals.

Care

Machine wash cold. No bleach. Lay flat to dry. Iron on low inside out. Do not dry clean.
