Sawadeeka!
Me and my Encircled Chrysalis Cardi {classic black} traveled to Thailand recently (partly as a biiiig b-day gift, just turned the big 5-0 this weekend! Eeks - scared to admit that!)!
Traveling to different countries lights up my soul and I had never been to Thailand, yet had always been intrigued at the thought of going.
I finally made it there and here are some tidbits of my adventure…
{For Business} I’m the Founder and Head Fashion Darling of Beautiful Pup Couture at Houndstooth Pets, so the thought of an Indiana Jones type of adventure, traipsing the nooks and crannies of the streets of Bangkok in search of exotic unique Thai silks for dog collars gave me the gooseys!
I also wanted to visit the amazing Soi Dog Foundation to bring awareness to their uber amazing dog life-saving stories. The silks I found are GOOORGEOUS, and just finished my blog including video interviews about the Soi Dog foundation.
{For Pleasure} BANGKOK: Besides exploring this exciting city on our own (I was with my hubby and two other couples), we enjoyed two days of private tours to exotic sites such as the Palace, Temples, Boat Rides, Local Eats, Playing with and Feeding Baby Tigers (sooo special, my fav!), Riding elephants, and a Floating Market.
And if there’s ONE thing you HAVE to know about Bangkok – it’s the Thai Massage ($6 for an hour girlfriend – Heaven!).
PHUKET: Yippee! I got to see my nephew in Phuket! He moved there a year and a half ago and hasn’t been back to the states – he’s a Muay Thai fighter! I’m soooo proud of him, he’s living a simple/passionate life! I cried when I first saw him and cried when I left him, but I’m comforted to know that he’s happy ☺
Our digs in Kata Phuket were to die for… (seen in the photos here) – private pool, incredible view overlooking the turquoise ocean. When we weren’t out and about, it was fun to relax, read, swim and lounge by the pool at this gorgeous hacienda.
One day we chartered a private boat to Raya for snorkeling. Raya is a small island with colorful coral reefs and fish, and sand that was white as snow and softer than powdered sugar – it felt like I walked into the movie, ‘The Blue Lagoon’ at this place - BEAUUUTIFUL!
{Thank you Cardi} I was feeling pretty and suuuper comfy wearing my Cardi! It was the perfect travel companion as a poncho during the 20 hours of flying, and since I forgot my eye cover, I threw it over my head when the lights were on if I wanted to snooze!
In both Phuket and Bangkok it was perfect as a sexy casual comfy dress for lounging around, browsing the shops, or grabbing a bite of Thai noodles! So that’s the scoop!
Would I travel to Thailand again? Heck ya! It was an adventure of a life-time and I’m ready to go back! {as long as I my comfy versatile Cardi joins me!}
Peace and sending doggie hugs,
Kathleen Naomi Atkins
