It's the best way to go especially with airlines like Air Canada and Westjet starting to charge for every bag checked.
In addition to this, airlines are also starting to scrutinize carry-on luggage to ensure it meets their dimensions and weight restrictions and force travellers to check anything over (at a cost of course!).
Here are 5 great options to get you traveling carry-on only on your next journey.
1. TUMI Vapor International Carry-on
Tumi's luggage is legendary among frequent flyers (and the brand that I personally carry as well). They have a lifetime warranty and truly some of the best customer service I've seen for a brand.
The Vapor is on my list to buy. Made from super-lite ABS/polycarbonate, this virtually weightless carry-on also has many interior pockets and a built in TSA lock. 4-Wheels to make it easy to navigate those narrow aisles!
2. West Elm Hex Carry On Duffle
West Elm? Really? Yes! In a collaboration with bag experts, Hex, West Elm created this menswear inspired duffle-style carry-on bag.
And it can be monogrammed. Love that.
3. Longchamp Fairval Four-wheeled carry on
For those that are brand-driven, the French brand, Longchamp has created a carry-on chic enough for your jet set lifestyle. Though the interior isn't as versatile as Tumi, the Fairval has 4-wheels, and a top and side handle (great for lifting heavier carry-on's into the overhead compartments!).
It also has a longchamp branded badge in leather on the front. How now!
4. Burton Wheelie Flight Deck carry on
Seasoned travellers may turn their nose up at Burton luggage. I'm definitely a convert. Burton does an amazing job on practical luggage (and golf bags + other accessories). Think about it - their core audience (Snowboarders etc) travel often so they definitely have mastered function into style.
The Flight Deck carry-on is not only affordable but so well organized. They've integrated something called "CRAM stretch panels" to enable you to fit as much as possible in your carry-on and still close the zipper.
Loads of interior pockets, and get this, replaceable skateboard style wheels. Love this.
5. Lipault Paris Foldable Wheeled Carry-on
This carry-on is MADE for people who live in condos. Seriously. This 22" roller is foldable when empty.
The Lipault Paris carry-on is also uber light. The lightest of the five I'm reviewing, and that means it's easy to squish down to fit into those overhead compartments.
I'm also loving the extensive colour collection. Goodbye boring black luggage!
