The Traveling Cardi: Long Beach Island, NJ 

This is the fourth post in the Traveling Cardi series, and the first post from Travelista, Kirsten.

It’s been a hectic summer (summers should never be hectic!) And… to top it all off… I was sick… for weeks! That’s why when I was invited to take a trip down to the good ol’ Jersey Shore, I didn’t hesitate to say YES… It was just what the doctor ordered!

Ok.. so it may not be Paris or some luxury resort in the Virgin Islands, but I am a Jersey girl through and through… and there’s nothing like the shore in the summer time.

Growing up, we would spend our summers there, and even though it may not be the most gorgeous location on earth, it still one of my favorite places in the world because of the memories it holds. Long Beach Island, NJ was the destination of our weekend escape, and it ended up being one of the best weekends of the summer so far. It was filled with great food, amazing weather, and even better company.

We unplugged, we made decisions based on how we felt… not a clock, and laughed and laughed and laughed. It was just perfect! An easy, relaxing weekend like this called for an equally simple wardrobe.

I packed my Chrysalis Cardi, and I wore it a lot! It proved to be ultimate hang-out to going-out piece that I was able to wear as a cover up to the beach and then with the click of a few snaps, I wore it as a cardi in the breezy evening.

Saturday was memorable. We spent the whole day at the beach, and then embarked on an old fashioned Jersey shore night out.

We went for burgers (veggie!), hit the miniature golf course, and ended our night with an ice cream cone (and a glass or two of Prosecco once we got home).

Rocking my Chrysalis Cardi and my favorite scarf from a trip to Ibiza, I was golfing like an absolute boss. I couldn’t believe it! Holes in Ones all over the place! (definitely beginner’s luck!) But the important part is… even though the cardi is gorgeous and lovely… I chose to wear it that night for it’s simplicity, comfort, and practical-ness (it was a little bit chilly!). But, to my surprise, someone took notice of my outfit.

As I was walking out of the mini golf place, the owner came up to me and handed me a certificate for ‘Best Dressed’ ! He told me that I really deserved it! And you know what… I think he is right! Every time I wear my cardi, whether it’s as a dress, the cape, or the simple cardi, I get compliments left and right.

Add that to the fact that it’s one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing I have ever owned, makes it the PERFECT versatile piece to have. It blows my mind that the same garment can be worn on a night out with heels and some fab jewelry, and in the blink of an eye can be transformed into a comfy cardigan or cover up to wear at the beach.

The Chrysalis Cardi is the ULTIMATE travel piece, and I can’t wait to take it with me on my next adventure!
