This is the fourth post in the Traveling Cardi series, and the first post from Travelista, Patricia.
The trip to Maastricht also provided us with the great opportunity for my husband and I to hang out in one of our favorite cities, Amsterdam.
I struck out for NYC wearing my Cardi as a cardigan as well as in Maastricht so I wanted to switch up the looks in Amsterdam. I absolutely love the look…I also love the color and the soft, comforting material.
The people are very easy going and the vibe in the city is very laid back.
It is a rainy weekend in Amsterdam and so my Cardi comes in handy again.
The rain doesn’t stop my husband or I; we have been married for 15 years and our New Year’s Eve anniversary never really allows us the chance to celebrate alone on that day. We have decided that these few days in Amsterdam would be our chance to celebrate.
We hang out in the square and just enjoy each other and the people watching.
The next morning, we start the day with a pancake. If you haven’t had the pleasure of eating a pancake in Holland, you’re missing out. Their pancakes are the best…as big as the plate they’re served on and thinner than a North American pancake but fluffier than a crepe.You can get them with bacon or other items baked right in. I opted for a Cointreau pancake. Yup, a little liqueur at breakfast is a great way to start the day…Bailey’s anyone?
After breakfast, we head out to enjoy walking along the canals and peeking in and out of the shops. I’ve decided to wear my Cardi as a cape, which allows me to keep my arms underneath and out of the rain and keeps me warm and cozy on this rainy, drizzly day in Amsterdam.
People watching, shopping, and hanging out is the theme of the day and it is great!
After a wonderful dinner, we return to our hotel and get ready to head back home to the USA in the morning. Overall, it’s been a great trip to The Netherlands and we look forward to returning again soon.
